The Vaccine Trust Framework in the Lancet Global Health

One behalf of ReD Trust Group, we are thrilled to announce that the Vaccine Trust Framework and underlying methodology have been published in the Lancet Global Health!

In the article, we describe the methodological underpinnings of the Vaccine Trust Framework and associated survey – from the synthesis of over 400 ethnographic engagements across Kenya, Pakistan & Nigeria countries, to the surveying of over 7,000 participants in Kenya and Pakistan to derive a quantitative measurement of trust. This data revealed links between trust and vaccine uptake for Childhood, HPV, and COVID-19 vaccines. You can read more about what we learned in Findings

This publication represents just the beginning, and we're energized about the future applications of this work. The Trust Framework serves three key functions: as a diagnostic instrument to identify trust gaps; an aid for intervention design to create targeted programs; and a monitoring tool to measure the effectiveness of trust-building efforts.

We’re already putting these capabilities into practice and working hard to make this research as impactful and far-reaching as possible. We’re collaborating with the Gates Foundation and other partners to test trust-building interventions, deepening our understanding of vaccine demand generation initiatives and their impact on trust and vaccine uptake. This is exactly the kind of on-the-ground application we envisioned when developing the Framework, and that we aim to continue doing – bringing insights and action closer.
